Born to a Japanese mother and a white American father, I often felt out of place in the world and wondered if I was an alien orphan accidentally dropped off on Earth. Despite being raised bilingual and bicultural, I didn't fit in with my Japanese family in Nishiwaki, nor did I fit in with my white family spread across the U.S.

Having faced bullying and racism, I found my calling in storytelling and I made it my mission to create works encouraging empathy and inclusion that welcome and allow all voices to be heard. With each story I tell through acting, I hope to heal a soul, and make another little alien child feel less alone on this absurd but wonderful planet.

This is why my favorite genres to narrate are children's and Y.A. fantasy and science fiction, but I also enjoy humorous stories, quirky rom-coms, and good cozy mysteries. Quirky protagonists, misunderstood misfits, and underdog outcasts always have a home in my heart. I've enjoyed working on solo and multi-cast audiobooks with publishers such as Penguin Random House and Graphic Audio. 

I'm a member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, and in addition to audiobooks, I have worked on stage, film, tv, and a variety of voiceovers. I received my B.A. in Theatre arts and minored in education. I also trained in the Japanese dramatic arts of Noh and Kyogen with Theatre of Yugen in San Francisco for three years. In addition to my stage training, I studied improv and sketch writing with the Upright Citizen's Brigade, dialects and accents with Chris Lang, and audiobooks with Elise Arsenault. My acting training is always ongoing, and I continue my studies at Diana Castle's Imagined Life Studios. 

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog child, a senior Chiweenie rescue, trying new foods, building Lego sets, and going on whatever adventure the day takes me on.
